Dear researchers and research administrators: 

The Vice Presidency for Research and Technology of the University of Puerto Rico is pleased to invite you to a talk by Dr. James Gavigan, representative of the European Union, to be held on October 10, 2014 at 10:00 am, at the Terraza in the 3rd floor of the UPR Central Administration. In this talk, doctor Gavigan will present to UPR researchers the HORIZON 2020 program, the biggest research and innovation program sponsored by the EU. Funding in the amount of $110 billions is available to support research projects, within the scope of the program, for the years 2014 to 2020. 

This is a unique opportunity to learn about the themes, guidelines and application procedures to obtain research support for research projects within a program that aims to produce world-class science and technology, remove barriers to innovation, and make it easier for the public and private sectors to work together in delivering solutions to big challenges facing our society.
